As your child joins Lord Williams’s School, we are very excited to be adding a ‘P’ to the LWA. Previously known as the Lord Williams’s Association (LWA) we are now moving to become the Lord Williams’s PARENTS Association (LWPA).
The LWPA is the PTA for Lord Williams’s School.
The aims of the LWPA are to support the school in advancing the education and development of its students by:
The LWPA is made up of parents and carers of students together with staff from the school, including our Headteacher, David Wybron.
The committee meets once a term, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary when we are planning larger events. Our AGM is held annually and is an opportunity to hear in more detail about events the LWPA has put on during the year and how we are planning to use the funds raised.
The LWPA raises funds for the school that directly benefit your child’s education. The majority of these funds are raised through the many events we run such as our hugely popular quiz night or our new obstacle fun run. You can also find us at key local community events such as Thame Carnival where we run a Pimm’s bar.
With government cuts and the increasing financial challenges of running a school, funds raised by the LWPA are now more critical than ever. Your support is extremely important. You can donate time, money, raffle prizes or offers of services and skills – no offer will be turned down!
LWPA news and events are always featured in the school’s Take Me Home newsletter as well as here on the school website.
